DEL POBLE PIZZERÍA – Premium Pizza Mailer

Del Poble Pizzería is a young Valencian company that promotes and brings visibility to this local Valencian product. This project was created together with Muñoz Bosch.

Using these quality products, they created recipes with seasonal products such as, for example, the “Carxofeta” pizza, for which we designed packaging with greater visual impact, environmentally friendly and with a gourmet presentation that keeps the product in perfect conditions until it is eaten.

Structural development. We wanted to undertake a different structural development exercise that would highlight the product inside, for the use experience to be different and special for consumers and also to make it “even more difficult” by creating a solution to remove the central piece of plastic that, until now, accompanied pizzas in their delivery boxes. We solved this by using a special design of the central support structure that uses the closing system of the lid.

Once open on the customer’s table, it creates a surface like a tablecloth that allows any group of consumers to sit around a table for their consumption experience.

Another important contribution was the optimisation of production. The press approaches it as a square instead of a rectangle and, to avoid material consumption, the position for processing turns it to 45 degrees. This way, we remove the lids and not only reduce the development of pressed cardboard that needs to be produced, but also balance operation on all grooved lines, making them work backwards.

Additionally, with this same characteristic, the system for closing and central support resists both the assembly structure and the stowage necessary for the product and its transport. Its functional design includes orifices for ventilation and an outlet for steam and condensation within the shape.

This pizza packaging was awarded Gold for Best Packaging by the Association of Designers in the Valencian Community in 2022. In 2024, the Association of Industrial Designers once again awarded us Gold for best food packaging.

Production Management. We managed the production of the packaging, generating the technical sheets for the project and maintaining direct communication with the factory to collaborate and allow the customer to obtain the result expected for both structural design and graphic design.
