MARIO PADIAL, La Dama Dolça S.L.- Halloween Pumpkin

This project was developed by Mario Padial, master chocolatier from Valencia, always focusing on the fusion of innovation and craftsmanship.

For this project, PackCo took care of creating the structural design, graphic design and the production management later on. The goal was to create a figure that represented Halloween and we decided on a lantern. An old-fashioned hand-held lamp with a glass tube that protected the flame.

Structural Design. The structural design allows the handle to extend or fold away, imitating the type of lamp it represents. The most innovative part of the structural design is that the light on the base can be turned on, lighting up the pumpkin inside, without having to touch the piece of chocolate. Child safety was the main aspect to focus on.
The windows protect the piece of chocolate while showing the interior and the graphics on this part. They are printed with special inks to favour the scary effect of the figures when the internal light is switched on.

Graphic design. All of the illustrations in this packaging have been designed to be unique and to stand out on the shelves, with a result that is very attractive to kids. The colours follow a range of greys and blacks to highlight the contrast with the white chocolate inside. Also, we used orange and white to highlight some elements as well as the sign that the product has a light.
The exterior finish was designed by combining shiny and matte finishes to highlight the various details of the illustrations. The graphic design focused on the figures that represent the world of horror and typical films around Halloween, but always softening them as this product is aimed towards children.

Production Management. For this project, the customer trusted PackCo with the management of the initial production. We take care of creating the necessary technical sheets with all of the specifications so that the supplier, at the factory, has no doubts about the guidelines to be followed when developing the project. We stay in constant contact with the supplier to resolve any potential doubts and if needed, we will visit the manufacturer. The first trials are examined to make sure that all of the parameters specified are being followed correctly. This was the case here.
This way, the customer can repeat the production and be sure that all of the variables are correct.
