SUGAR PAPI – Advent Calendar
Sugar Papi, a project by TikToker Sergio Peldanyos—who’s also well-known for creating and launching new flavours—challenged us once more to support the packaging design for DROP#005. An advent calendar that was never going to go unnoticed.
Structural Design. The presentation concept was predefined by the Sugar Papi team, both in terms of shape and graphics. They wanted to develop a supersize advent calendar containing chocolates. In this case, after studying the presentation and protection requirements for the product, we recommended a specific material that was sufficiently durable. This material allowed for special finishes to ensure the graphics looked flawless and was ideal for maintaining integrity despite the perforations required to access each chocolate. Furthermore, it had to be designed to maintain its structure and protect the product, given its large size and shipping method.
Additionally, the internal thermoformed plastic structure to hold the chocolates underwent production supervision and modifications suggested by our team. This component had to secure the chocolates to prevent them from rolling around, keep them safe from potential impacts, and ensure they could be removed without having to apply too much pressure.
Finally, an unprinted (unbranded) outer shipping box was designed to protect the calendar from any knocks or harsh conditions it might encounter during refrigerated transport.
Production Management. We created the necessary technical documentation with all specifications for the various suppliers, including all parameters for both die-cutting and printing. In this project, the artwork was provided by the client’s graphic design team, but we independently suggested varnished areas to enhance the graphic work and sourced the most appropriate supplier for these tasks: the advent box, the corrugated cardboard packaging, and supervising production of the plastic tray.
