Do you recognise this box of Turrón that was on everybody’s lips last winter? Literally, on everybody’s lips!

Sugar Papi, once again, brought us this project together with the influencer Peldanyos, who had a very clear idea of what he wanted for DROP 003 and we immediately got to work to resolve the structural design and make sure it worked perfectly.

Structural Design. For this project, we developed two designs: one packaging for shipping and the project itself that consists of a sleeve and drawer. Tuvimos muy en cuenta la experiencia del usuario y nos gustó la idea de simbolizar la apertura de un cofre donde encontrar “el tesoro” en el interior. The packaging replicates a trunk. We really took user experience into consideration and liked the idea of symbolising the opening of a chest to find the “treasure” within. We developed it on corrugated cardboard printed using flexography.
Then, the product itself is a sleeve that opens using a zip and once it’s open, we can access the main piece.
It’s a chest of drawers that meets two important points: One, it had to protect the 4 pieces of turrón inside it and be resistant as it was to be sent by courier. And two, it had to have that “wow!” effect that is so important for an unboxing.
It has 4 drawers with a small tab on the front to pull them out. One detail we can highlight from the structural design is that the drawers have a stopper that keeps them from coming out completely and they stay firm despite the weight of the turrón.
Also, on the inside of the drawers we created tabs to be able to pull the turrón out carefully, it’s practically a presentation of each bar of turrón.

Production management. We created the necessary technical sheets with all of the specifications for the supplier and all of the parameters for both die-cutting and printing. In this case, the graphics were provided by the customer, but at PackCo we verified it, suggested areas of varnish to boost the graphic work and sought out the most suitable supplier for the job.
